Football Dreamz ran a trial programme in Sweden. A trial is where scouting stops being an opinion: the players selected in Nigeria and Cameroon train and play in front of the people who would have to sign them.
Why Sweden, and why in January
Sweden is where the format is run from, and this is the second time in this record that selected players were brought there. The distance is the point, and so is the month. A player who can hold a session through a Swedish winter has answered a question that no scouting day in Lagos is able to ask.
